40 + years of SHSelection
After starting as a working student, more than 40 years of sales activity followed, during which I introduced mainly unknown Italian and international brands from the sports and lifestyle sector to Germany and Northern Europe such as Nordica, ellesse, Kappa, Madras or Bennetton Sportsystem.
By being responsible for sales and marketing at all times, I expanded distribution to all of Europe and even Asia with licenses such as Mossimo, where we supplied over 17,500 POS at peak in the 90's.
At some point it became too much, the classic three-tier distribution declined, the department store arena began to perish, strong sales channels such as Horten, Hertie and Kaufring shrank. In addition to some private reasons, there were plenty of other reasons to sell the distribution business.
The consulting activities began with habitat, which I focused on after leaving the sales business. I assisted Michel Dessolain in the expansion, the current CEO of Unibail Rodamco Westfield- I knew every store on all of the main European shopping streets.
At the same time, I became a member of the ICSC-USA at PROCOS-Paris and assisted the HQ of major retail companies in their expansion and launch of their retail concepts in Europe and Germany.
I have also always been particularly interested in the design of utilization concepts for shopping and entertainment venues in Japan, the Emirates, Qatar and, for some years now, increasingly in German Innercities.
Brand building is in my genes and I am proud to be able to shape the exciting changes and paradigm shifts in society and especially in retail on eye level.
As a jury member for the HDE's Store of the Year and the Word Retail Awards, I have always been able to engage in large international trávels with the most innovative global retail and lifestyle concepts. Unfortunately, the Corona pandemic has severely restricted these committee activities.
