As a former track and field athlete, it was obvious to build up the necessary distribution for the Italian company, which had been celebrating huge successes since the Olympics in 1986 in L.A. Well-known US track and field athletes who were part of the Olympics among others were, e.g. Edwin Moses, Carl Louis Griffith Joyner and the US girls.

Soon the concept, the sales team, the marketing and above all, the addition of trendy fashion styles for the sports collection were set up. Thus, Kappa was not only the supplier and sponsor of the first marathon in Berlin, but also immediately involved with its own sportswear and became the first exhibitor at FIBO when the fitness boom emerged. There, the first contacts were made in soccer sponsoring, which later ended in equipment contracts with Juventus Turin, BVB Dortmund, 1. FC St. Pauli and Borussia Mönchengladbach. In the field of music sponsoring, Kappa was active at Rock am Ring and had its own truck at three big Love Parades in Berlin. Of course, there was also product placement, e.g. on VIVA. After 16 years, the successful cooperation ended due to different visions of the future.
